Ever Tried Salad Before A Long Run?

by Steve
(Yorkshire)

Hello all

I've recently started eating raw lettuce, carrots and radishes for breakfast before a run along (14-16 miles) with two cups of black tea.

It works a treat and I only have a couple of jelly beans and 300ml of water at the half way stage.

This gives me all the energy I need, amazing.

Unquestionably believe that which you stated. Your favorite justification seemed to be on the web the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people think about worries that they plainly do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

Other Green Breakfast Options
by: Anna

Dear Steve,
thanks a lot for sharing your insight. It is often mistaken that before a long run, it's best to eat more starchy foods such as mueslis and in reality, these can take a while to digest often resulting in rapid blood sugar crashes. Definitely a superb option to start the day with greens. Adding 1 tsp of olive or flaxseed oil will help to sustain energy needed on a long run. For even faster nutrient absorption, blending a green smoothie is a time-saving alternative!
